I was born in 1944 to Fred & Grace Borden. I am the third of four children. My two older brothers are twins, born in 1938. The younger of the twins was killed in a bicycle accident in 1961, leaving a wife and two children. The older of the twins has spent most of his life in Africa as a missionary, and still resides there at this time.
My sister was born in 1948, and after living several years in Africa, in the same area as her older brother, returned to the States, and now lives about seven miles from me. My mother, who was born in 1916 lives with my sister. Dad has been with the Lord now for several years.
I grew up as a preacher/missionary's kid, and spent the years of 1953 to 1957 in Africa where my father helped start a new mission work. When we arrived there, it was just a bare piece of land, that we helped develop into a mission station. The picture on the left was taken at my wife's sister's daughters wedding just after Christmas in 2008.
I retired from full time work in October of 2001, and then worked about 600 to 800 hours a year for the company that I retired from. In 2009 I discontinued my part time work with the power company. In 2008 we began another adventure running a seasonal squash seed processing plant in Hart Michigan. My wife Barbara and I live full time in our 40 foot, Holiday Rambler, diesel pusher, four slides, coach. We spend from three to five months a year on the road. Barbara and I were married in 1964. The picture was taken in Michigan, in the Fall of 2008.
